Partnerships

Partnership pages should make collaboration concrete.

HCIA appears on source itinerary titles. A 2020 certificate names Bali Rastiti Bhakti Foundation. New partners must be able to say who is in the classroom and who safeguards it.

Documented collaborators, carefully described

Itinerary PDFs are titled HCIA & Journer. journer treats HCIA as a source-document collaborator on student volunteer-teaching calendars, including a diving-certificate variant. The 2020 certificate of appreciation is issued in the frame of Bali Rastiti Bhakti Foundation, which describes itself on that document as organizing volunteer programs in intercultural learning, community development, animal conservation, and environmental protection in Bali. Those are the named entities in the source pile. They are not a license to list other brands as partners.

Green School appears in the guidebook as a ticketed visitor site about thirty minutes from the project point, not as a placement. Temples, safari parks, and beaches are likewise visitor geography. Please do not cite them as journer partners.

What a new partnership has to make concrete

Who hosts the classroom. Who is in the room with children. Who signs hour certificates. Who holds medical forms for divers. Who pays drivers. Who is on the WeChat emergency card. If a school, university, or local organization wants a cohort, bring those answers to the apply page. Delivery can look like a workshop series, a club, a single week, or a custom calendar—still without public fake dates.

Mutuality test

A partner who needs volunteers in order to avoid hiring teachers is the wrong partner. A partner who can use a six-hour exchange as intercultural contact, with local staff remaining in charge, is in the right shape. journer would rather decline a logo swap than run a placement that fails that test.

School partners versus host partners

A sending school and a host classroom are both partners, with opposite jobs. The sending school prepares and assesses students. The host controls the room and can send guests out. journer sits in between with a calendar and rules. Confusion between those roles produces guests who act like inspectors and schools that act like tour desks. Keep them distinct in every email.

HCIA, as named on itinerary titles, is a documented calendar collaborator in the source pile. If your legal team needs more, ask in application rather than quoting this paragraph as a contract. The Bali Rastiti Bhakti Foundation name appears on a 2020 certificate; similarly, do not turn one document into an eternal exclusive.

What we will publish

We will publish rules, hour totals, and source-based geography. We will not publish a partner wall of logos we cannot defend. If that makes the page look sparse, it is still more trustworthy than a crowded one.

Declining a logo

If a company wants to sponsor backpacks in exchange for a classroom photo, decline. If a school wants to list unnamed Bali partners on a glossy, decline on our side too. Partnerships that need a child’s face are not partnerships. They are supply chains. The source certificate from 2020 shows a way to document hours without turning a foundation into a billboard for every future year. Copy the restraint, not the serial number.

Partnerships with sending parents’ employers

Sometimes a company wants to sponsor the trip for CSR photographs. That is not a host partnership and it is not an HCIA calendar collaboration. It is a branding request that usually wants children. Decline, or confine the logo to a school newsletter that uses student (not host-child) work. Money that requires a classroom image is expensive.

If a university partner wants research access, send them the research-question article and the ethics page. Access to children is not a perk of affiliation. Affiliation is a way to prepare students, not a key to a village.

Name partners sparingly in public. Sparse is a feature. Dense partner walls are how invented schools get onto websites. We would rather look under-networked than over-claimed.
