Paths instead of a junk drawer
The travel library is a reading order, not a cloud drive. Families: packing, safety, family-questions insight, FAQ, apply. Student teachers: teaching lab, lesson-briefing insight, ethics, itinerary. Divers: diving page, PADI planning insight, combination insight, safety. Schools: school audience, cohorts, evaluation insight, partnerships, terms.
External official references—immigration sites, PADI’s own public education pages, clinical travel advice—should be opened in another tab. journer.org will not mirror them as if we were the regulator.
- Source PDFs live in the site folder for operators; public visitors get the HTML translations.
- Legacy HTML under an archive path is noindex historical material.
- Insights are dated in metadata as 2026-09-09 for this rebuild.
If a document is not linked, it is probably because it would require inventing a price list or a school name. Ask via Linda’s channel instead.
Internal path table
Operator handbook: guidebook page, packing, safety, terms. Pedagogy: lab, lesson insight, team roles, reflection. Water: diving, PADI insight, combination insight. School: cohorts, evaluation insight, partnerships. Family: family audience, family insight, FAQ. That is the library. Bookmark by role.
External reading we respect but do not control
Official Indonesian immigration pages. PADI public education pages. A clinician’s travel advice. Host instructions in country. If those conflict with a blog, including ours, the official or on-site professional wins. The library is a pointer, not a parallel government.
Updating
When source files change, this HTML should change, with lastmod on the sitemap. If you are looking at a printed packet dated before 9 September 2026, prefer the live page. Do not mix packets.
A librarian’s note to future editors
If you are updating journer.org after this rebuild, do not add a price because a sales call felt easier with a number. Put the number in a private quote. Do not add a school name because a certificate felt lonely. Do not add a 2026 grid because a competitor has one. The library’s job is to remember why those refusals exist: the PDFs did not contain those facts, and inventing them would make the operator look busier than it is honest.
When a new source PDF arrives, map it like the guidebook page already maps chapters. Then change the itinerary table, not the adjectives. Adjective-first editing is how “skill-conditional” becomes “guaranteed PADI.” Guard the verbs.
Keep the legacy HTML archive noindex. Researchers of the brand can find it; searchers for volunteer teaching should find the live handbook. Mixing live and archive in the sitemap would be a different kind of dishonesty: two operators in one domain.
Finally, keep Linda’s number in contact, safety, apply, and the footer so a panicked parent does not have to hunt. Redundancy of the emergency channel is a library feature, not duplicate content in the search-engine sense that matters here. People in a hurry should trip over the number.
What a school should download once
Itinerary table, packing list, safety limit paragraph, Linda’s number, ethics sentence about hours, lesson brief template. That is a packet. Do not download the entire insights series to a printer the night before. Libraries are for choosing. Choosing is adult work.
Keep a dated copy of the packet in the evidence library so you know which lastmod you briefed against. If the live site changes a pickup description later, you can see what you told parents. Versioning is a library job.
Do not download children’s images from anywhere into this library. If you have none, you are already doing it right.
A packet filename
bali_journer_packet_2026-09-09.pdf. The date is the lastmod. When you brief, say the date out loud so a parent who Googles later is not shocked by a live page that has moved. Libraries without dates are rumors with letterhead.
